“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
That is a maxim I truly believe in.
From my earliest days as one of six children, the value of teamwork was drilled into me.
Well, the smooth running of a home of eight depended upon it.
I took those lessons I learnt from my family, along with previous business experience, to heart when I founded the Shavano Family Office.
Our team here is small, agile, and purpose-built.
Each of us has a clear role, with skills that complement each other.
In fact, this team mindset is evident across our entire business operation. Take the Shavano Property Group as an example. Diversification is at the centre of its approach, as we operate across the commercial, industrial and residential sectors. We have applied the principles of teamwork to our investment strategies, where differences are core strengths that drive the business.
Another strength in teamwork is the extensive knowledge library that’s built by the experiences of each member of the team. This library stores decades of insights and lessons that we reference time and time again to challenge each other to reach a stronger position.
We often see teamwork in action and at its best on the sporting field. I enjoy a bit of rugby and am sure hoping the Wallabies can come together as a unit in time for next year’s World Cup in Australia.
Meanwhile back at the Shavano Family Office, I will always be searching for fresh ways to bring the team together so we can achieve our aspirational goals.
That’s because hitting our targets will allow us to give back more to the community and help other Australian families through worthy charities like Canteen, where donations provide life-changing support to young people whose worlds have been turned upside down by cancer.
